10 Skin Care Secrets

Welcome back, borrachas! I bet you missed me ?

I’m counting the days until I can finally set sail on a cruise ship and tan my little bum away, but tanning comes with a price. That price? Skin problems. I’m speaking of tanning outside in the sun, of course; we all know tanning beds and spray tans are a whole different story.  When you set your eyes on tanning outdoors you must prepare yourself for some harsh side effects in the long run but that’s why I paired up with Bianca Contreras, a Mary Kay consultant, and she gave me the 411 on what you can do to protect your skin during the summer.

I’ll start off by saying I’m the worst at taking care of my skin! I like to pop pimples, scratch off scabs and I hate wearing SPF! After attending a fun demonstration with Bianca and other Mary Kay consultants, I was a little more aware of how I cared for my skin (or lack there of?) Bianca gave me her top 10 skin care secrets when it comes to fighting aging, fine lines, and improving the overall appearance of your skin.

So let’s get into the skin care chisme ??

Secret #1: SPF SPF is a must have! It protects you against UVA ray (these cause fine lines, dark spots, and wrinkles) and UVB rays (these cause sunburns.) This is the first step in fighting aging. I won’t lie and say I apply SPF but I will tell you since I stopped applying it religiously I have seen more lines on my skin, so be aware ladies.

Secret #2: moisturizer Moisturizer is the thing I do religiously now, especially since I have noticed some dry patches. This emollient-rich lotion combines the action of 10 hours of hydration so that your skin is firmer, smoother skin and now I will see fewer of my fine lines and wrinkles. Thank goodness!

Secret #3: Satin Lip Balm/Sugar Scrub Lipstick and Vodka can’t have crusty lips so Mary Kay carries a Satin Lips Sugar Scrub and Shea Butter Balm. This combination set does more than preps your lips for those mattifying liquid lipsticks and those hot make-out sesh. You’ll have to taste, I mean try it out, to see for yourself. ?

Secret #4: Charcoal Mask: I love me a charcoal mask just like everyone else. Charcoal has been the biggest fad of late 2016, early 2017 but there has yet to be a charcoal mask that smells good and have the same skin benefits as this one. This mask has rosemary mint in it which makes those 20 mins, where I have to leave it on, bearable. This not only smells good but it absorbs 2x its weight in oils and impurities, which will definitely help clear your skin! The main thing that sets this charcoal mask apart is the patented Honeysuckle and Navy Bean Extracts that visibly brighten your skin and dark spots after the very first use!

Secret #5: Cleanser OMG words can’t even describe this cleanser, so I’ll use what Mary Kay has in their catalog: “#1 best seller and 11 age defying benefits!” I’ve been using this cleanser for about 8 months and it has been a constant in my skin care routine. It’s perfection!

Secret #6: Spin Brush The spin brush is something I have yet to try but brushes definitely help to exfoliate and cleanse pores and this brush is easy to use in the shower and cheaper than most!!

Secret #7: Night Solution I never plan for my skin future TBH. However, when Bianca spoke about this product she mentioned that it contained capsulated vitamins A, C, D E, copper, and collagen which helps your skin produce more cells to make more collagen, meaning younger looking skin! I’m planning on looking 22 for life so bring on the night solution!

Secret #8: Under eye cream This is so important! Your skin is very thin around your eyes and this is where you immediately see signs of aging. If you don’t have lines around your eyes, this is a perfect way to prevent them; if you do, this is a great way to prevent them even more.

Secret #9: Oil Mattifier This is more of a secret than a way to help you fight aging. If you have oily skin (like me ?), you need something to help control those oils on your skin. This oil mattifier formula can be put on (sparingly), under or over your makeup, and it’ll instantly dry to a matte finish that absorbs that excess oil and controls the shine for up to 8 hours.

Secret #10: CC Cream A lot of people asked about tinted moisturizers or CC creams in a video on Facebook and although I talked about it in that video, I did want to give you all an option on a CC cream I have tried. This was light weight and it blended into my skin fairly well. This is a perfect way to wear makeup without the cakey feel.

Bonus Chisme:

Eye Gel: Bianca told me about this after our skin care talk and she recommended it for us millennials. It’s like a cooling gel that instantly wakes you up especially after a long day of Facebook stalking and Instagram liking. Here is what she said ” I spend a lot of time working on my computer which causes my eyes to get red, itchy and tired. Especially, with contacts. I just dab around the eyes, and I’m good to go almost instantly.”

Beauty That Counts Baked Cheek Powder: This is a great way to serve looks while helping others. When you purchase this blush it “benefits The Mary Kay FoundationSM, including its support of women’s shelters and survivors of domestic abuse.” It is limited edition so get your hands on it asap. This foundation has even provided funding to our very own Mujeres Unidas.

If you want to try some of these products or are ready to start caring for your skin contact Bianca asap. It’s never too late to start the age fighting process.

Until next time borrachas ?
