The Landmark Downtown Mcallen

This weekend one of the newest spots in downtown McAllen opened its doors.  The Landmark, an outdoor bar/club and food truck spot, hosted its grand opening Saturday night and you know I was there! I’m always hesitant when heading to an outdoor establishment for the fact that the RGV is always 95+ degrees but no worries! A cute breezy outfit and you’re all set to fully enjoy what The Landmark has to offer.

Walking into The Landmark, I immediately felt some Miami vibes coming from the crisp white “shipping containers” surrounding the place to the bright greenery all around the bars that flowed onto the floor. I also loved how the two shipping containers on each side of the entrance had a seating area and a large neon sign that read: “Rosé All Day” in front of some greenery.

In the center you’ll find tables and stools for an occasional sit down during the party and let me tell you, there will be a party! After 10 pm The Landmark goes from family/pet-friendly to the perfect place to get your perreo on! House music, EDM and our fave, reggaetón, fills the air to get the party started!

Ok, Karla! We’re ready to talk about the drinks and food! LET. ME. TELL. YOU! The bars blew my mind! I was excited to find out that there was not one, not two, but FOUR bars at The Landmark! You all know I love craft cocktails and if you do too, The Landmark doesn’t specialize in this BUT each bar caters to a different style of drinks.

One bar caters to agave-based drinks, think carretas, margaritas, palomas, etc. The other caters
towards downtown style drinks such as quick shots to get the party started. Bar number three caters towards micheladas and beer and the last bar is for high-end drinks aka champagne. This doesn’t mean that you can’t get a michi at the downtown style bar but each one “specializes” in something.

As far as the food trucks, I had some bomb ass fish tacos from La Costa Grill food truck! Highly recommend these tacos with an extra side of spicy mayo. Yum! They’ll have shrimp tacos very soon and I can’t wait for that.

There are now two outdoor bars/ food truck spots and they’re so different from each other so there is something for everyone.

If you visit The Landmark, let me know what you’re loving about the new place!

Adios, Borrachxs!
