I am the queen of giving my opinions when they’re not asked, so it was only right to share my thoughts on the most underrated products of 2018! 2018 has been a year full of trial and error on products that I, never in my life, would have ever tried if it wasn’t for my Borrachxs! The underdog always wins the hearts of many and I hope these underrated products win yours once you’ve tried them.
I bought this on a whim because it was so shiny and pretty. I also loved the angle of the brush so I had to buy it. After my trip to Cancun this summer, I’ve been blending my foundation and concealer with my fingers until I got this brush. It creates such a flawless finish! The price of this brush is also a major plus!
You all know I’m USUALLY a simple girl. No contour, no glitter eyeshadow, no eyelash strips. I bought this contour stick just to add some warmth to my face when I’m on the go and it’s my favorite product in my makeup bag. I’ll lightly add some contour after my foundation, add some powder, mascara and I’m out the door. This product easily blends once applied. It’s truly a life and time saver
So this, in my opinion, is the biggest skin care trend I’ve been seeing going around. The gua sha is this oddly shaped tool that is typically made out of the jade rock. It helps to drain out your lymphatic system, which in turn helps with puffiness, your immune system (I know, wtf?!) and can even help with a migraine and a cough. Personally, I’ve never used this tool for my immune system or a migraine, but it helps so much with puffiness! I’ve been at work, hungover and no one would ever know!
Who even knew that LA Girl had brushes?! I surely didn’t until I went to Acrylic Box in Brownsville, TX. They carried plenty of LA Girl and I casually stumbled upon these brushes. I’ll just say that it is one of my favorite eyeshadow brushes. It’s soft, blends beautifully and, my favorite part, inexpensive.
Let’s not confuse this with micro-blading. Micro-needling is done by using a tool that rolls hundreds of tiny needles on your face, puncturing the skin and ultimately, attempting to regenerate those skin cells to reveal beautiful and healthy skin. It helps with acne, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and pore size. I can vouch for this. I used it for some time and it was honestly a life changer. My acne scars have diminished a ton! My skin is a lot healthier, breaks out less, and just looks better.
I got hooked on this during my breakout phase. I had been breaking out so often that I couldn’t find a cleanser that helped with my acne. When I went over to Luxe Nail & Beauty Bar for my microdermabrasion facial, I fell in love with the scent of this cleanser. It smells like strawberries. It’s a natural face cleanser and I must say it’s one of the best cleansers I’ve ever tried.
I spoke about this on my Instagram a few weeks ago. It was a battle of the lashes and no one won in the end! Lash strips from KISS are my ultimate favorite lashes and the glue is a powerhouse! The strips are so thin you don’t even feel them. The glue is so sticky and withstands just about anything! I once had a one night stand and left with my lashes intact. just sayin’
2018 really pushed me to try new things and, not just find products that worked for me but also allowed me to understand my body. All of these products are products I’ve tried again and again, and without fail have delivered amazing results. I hope you go out and try at least one of these products this year, and let me know what products you think I should try next.
